Privacy notice
How Get Storage collects and uses the personal information you share through our Hackbridge enquiry forms.
1. Who we are
Get Storage Ltd is the data controller for personal data collected through this website. We are a UK storage business operating a site in Hackbridge in the London Borough of Sutton. You can contact us about privacy matters using our enquiry form.
2. What data we collect
When you complete an enquiry form, we collect the information you choose to provide, which may include:
- your name;
- your email address;
- your telephone number (optional);
- your preferred unit size and the timing you have in mind;
- your intended use, and the area you are in if you tell us; and
- any details you include in your message.
We ask you to provide only what is needed to respond to you. Please avoid including sensitive personal information in your message.
3. Why we use it and our lawful bases
We use the information you provide to:
- contact you about storage in Hackbridge, including as our plans progress, and respond to your enquiry — our lawful basis is your consent, which you give by ticking the consent box and submitting the form, and/or steps taken at your request prior to entering into a contract;
- plan the storage we provide at the proposed Hackbridge site, including the mix of unit sizes — our lawful basis is our legitimate interests in dealing with enquiries and deciding whether and how to proceed, balanced against your rights; and
- keep basic records and protect against misuse of our forms — our lawful basis is our legitimate interests in security and record-keeping.
You can withdraw consent at any time by contacting us. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing carried out before you withdrew it.
4. Our form provider (processor)
We use Formspree to receive and deliver enquiries submitted through our forms. Formspree acts as a service provider (processor) that processes the form data on our instructions in order to pass your enquiry to us. Formspree's own handling of data is described in its privacy documentation. We only use it to transport and deliver enquiry submissions.
5. How long we keep it
We keep enquiry data for no longer than necessary for the purposes above. As a general approach, we retain enquiry correspondence for a limited period appropriate to following it up and keeping reasonable business records, after which it is deleted or anonymised. Where this leads to a storage agreement, related records may be kept for longer under that agreement.
6. Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with our form provider (as described above) and, where required, with professional advisers or authorities to comply with legal obligations. We do not use your enquiry data for advertising.
7. International transfers
Some of our service providers may process data outside the UK. Where that happens, we take steps to ensure an appropriate level of protection for your data, such as relying on adequacy regulations or appropriate safeguards (for example, the UK International Data Transfer Addendum or standard contractual clauses) as required by UK data protection law.
8. Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- be informed about how your data is used;
- request access to the personal data we hold about you;
- ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data;
- ask us to erase your data in certain circumstances;
- restrict or object to certain processing;
- request portability of data you provided to us; and
- withdraw consent where we rely on it.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us via the enquiry form. We will respond within the timescales set by UK data protection law (normally within one month).
9. Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect the information you send us and to guard against unauthorised access, loss or misuse. Enquiry submissions are transmitted over an encrypted connection. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information appropriately.
10. Complaints
If you have concerns about how we handle your data, please contact us first so we can try to resolve them. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK supervisory authority, at ico.org.uk.
11. Changes to this notice
We may update this notice from time to time. Any changes take effect when posted on this page.
